Single Stakes About (SSA)

What is a Single Stakes About Bet?

Two singles with conditional staking: returns from the first winning single place a single on the second (and vice versa).

Single Stakes About Example

Selection NameOdds
Team A2/1
Team B3/1
Team C4/1

Treat as two conditional singles; if selection A wins, a single is placed on B with the specified stake about condition. Use the calculator below to see exact returns for each component bet and the total.

Examples

Football (decimal odds)

A 2.10 and B 2.40 with SSA: if A wins, place a single on B from the proceeds; if B wins, place a single on A.

Horse racing (fractional odds)

Horses A 7/4 and B 5/2 with SSA conditions in both directions.

Fractional odds explained

  • Written as a/b (e.g., 5/2). This means you win a profit of a for every b you stake.
  • Profit = stake × (a ÷ b). Total return = stake + profit.
  • Quick convert to decimal: 1 + (a ÷ b). Example: 9/4 → 1 + 9/4 = 3.25.
  • Example: at 2/1, a £10 stake: profit £20, total return £30.

Formulas

Conditional singles

  • Place two singles (one on each selection).
  • If A wins, place an extra single on B from the proceeds; if B wins, do the same onto A.
  • Total return = both base singles + any triggered extra singles.

Reasons for making a Single Stakes About Bet

  • Increased chances of winning: Multiple combinations create more ways to get a return than a single bet.
  • Potential for significant returns: When several selections win, combined payouts can grow quickly.
  • Risk management: Some combinations can still return even if not all selections win.
